A chance to air your views.
There are currently two applications for large wind turbines bordering the Southern edge of our Parish; one at Hole Farm on the A3079 road to Okehampton and one at Witherdon Wood. Click on the map alongside to open a new window with a larger map showing the locations of these two applications.
West Devon District Council have received an Application to site a 79 metre (260 foot) high wind turbine at Metherell Cross just off the A3079 before the turning to Patchacott. The details can be viewed on the West Devon District Council's website by clicking the link on the right. >
Beaworthy Parish Council held an open Meeting to discuss this Application on 12th December at Patchacott Village Hall. There appears to be strong opposition and residents were urged to write letters to the WDDC Planning Dept, stating their planning-related views.
Torridge District Council have received a planning Application to site a 84 metre (276 foot) high wind turbine at Witherdon Wood. The application details can be viewed on the Torridge District Council website by clicking the link on the right of this page and searching for application number: 1/0922/2012/FUL.
Halwill Parish Council voted to object to both these applications at the scheduled Parish Council Meeting on Thursday 13th December in Halwill Parish Hall. Responses to both Torridge DC and West Devon DC Planning will be published on the right hand side of this page soon after the meeting.
Note: anyone wishing to make personal responses to the Planners about Witherdon Wood Turbine should do so as soon as possible. The deadline for the Metherell Cross Turbine Application will be mid-January.
