The Entrance to the Parish Hall car park

The drop kerb at the entrance to the Hall car park has been extended

For many years cars have had to negotiate the too narrow entrance to the Hall car park. Many an alloy wheel has been scuffed and many a buttock has been bruised as cars have been forced to bump over the kerb as they enter or leave the car park. Sometimes this has been because of a bus parked in the lay bye and sometime because cars meet each other as they travel in opposite directions but always it is because the drop kerb was built for a bygone era where alloy wheels and low profile tyres were yet to be invented.

The Parish Council decided that the time had come to act. Both Torridge District Council and Devon County Council cited budgetary constraints for not acting so the Parish Council decided to commission GM Contractors to do the work. This work has now been finished to the joy of parishioners and the dismay of the local tyre fitters.
