Halwill Parish Council Accounts

Parish Council accounts are produced every year, are reviewed by the Parish Council shortly after 31st March each year and once agreed are passed to the internal auditors where they undergo a rigorous audit. The Governance and Accounting Statements, explanation of variances and bank statement reconciliation are then submitted to the Audit Commission. The Audit Commission then checks the accounting and spending of the Parish Council and produce a report which either agrees with the statements or asks for further information. All councils in England and Wales are subject to these processes. The accounts are then made available for public scrutiny either on a notice board or at a public place, such as a library or council offices.
