Ruby Country

Enclosed by the upland expanses of Bodmin, Exmoor and Dartmoor, and to the north by the wild North Devon coast, Ruby Country is very much "undiscovered Devon". A haven of tranquillity, with some of the blackest night skies in the UK, a visit to Ruby Country is a visit to deepest darkest Devon, where you can experience the peace and quiet of being truly off the beaten track.

And there is plenty to do! From exploring the traditional market towns of Hatherleigh and Holsworthy, to walking the Ruby Trails, to enjoying some of the finest local produce and hospitality in the country, you will leave Ruby Country looking forward to your next visit. With easy access to other parts of Devon and north Cornwall, it also serves as a good base from which to explore further afield.

This community website, co-ordinated by the Ruby Country Partnership, gives you all the information you might need to plan your visit, whether you are coming for a day, perhaps to walk a Ruby Trail, or passing through on your bike on the Coast to Coast, or looking for the luxury of a week or two to recharge your batteries.
