                    THE CLAY INDUSTRY AT PETERS MARLAND

A Bideford ware salt glazed bowl, 10 inches in diameter, made using North Devon ball clay. The inscribed ring shows it was made in 1727 for a member of the Greening family of Bideford who were involved with North Devon clay production from the 17th to the end of the 19th century
