Church of St. Peter and St. James 

The church dates from the 13th century although the remains of a Saxon preaching cross in the churchyard show that there has been a Christian community here for well over a thousand years. The tower is original Norman whilst the nave was extended and modified in Victorian times. The traditional surrounding church yard is a haven of peace and wildlife

The church is open during day light hours and visitors are more than welcome. An information board outside the church tells the story of the local community and further information is displayed inside the church

The church is a mile outside Halwill Junction at EX21 5UH. Take the A3079 north out of Halwill Junction towards Holsworthy. 100yards past the 30mph de-restriction look for the junction on LHS signposted Halwill. The church is ½ mile on RHS.

We alternate weekly services with our sister church - St Albans at the nearby hamlet of Beaworthy. Again village notieboards and the above web site give details of days and times. Beaworthy is 2 miles from Halwill Junction at EX21 5AB, Take the A3079 south out of Halwill Junction towards Okehampton. After 1/4 mile turn left under the old railway bridge.
